What You Should Know About
The church of Christ

First, we want you to know that we are a "visitor friendly" church. We simply try to treat others in the same way that we want to be treated - you know, the "Golden Rule" (Matthew 7:12).

Second, we want you to know that we are a very diverse church. The Lord's church is for all people. God does not look at our racial, social, or economic backgrounds - neither should we (Romans 1:14-16).  We simply try to treat others in the same way that we want to be treated - you know, the "Golden Rule" (Matthew 7:12).

Third, we want you to know that we are a pre-denominational church. Our origin dates back to the first century on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2).

Fourth, we want you to know that we are simply "Christians". Individually, we call ourselves by a Bible name - Christian (Acts 11:26). Congregationally, we call ourselves by a Bible name - churches of Christ (Romans 16:16).

Fifth, we want you to know that we practice Bible-based salvation. The Bible says that in order to be saved, we must be born again (John 3:1-13). Question: What is involved in being born again? Answer: Upon hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17), one must believe it and confess his or her faith in Jesus as the Son of God (Romans 10:10). Then, upon repenting of one's sins (change of mind and action), he or she is to be immersed in water for the purpose of washing those sins away (Acts 2:38). At this point, one becomes a simple New Testament Christian and a member of the church of Christ.

Sixth, we want you to know that we practice New Testament worship. We simply sing (Ephesians 5:19). We pray (I Thessalonians 5:17). We give as we have prospered (I Corinthians 16:1-3). We partake of the Lord's Supper on the first day of every week (Acts 20:7). We have Christ-centered preaching (I Corinthians 2:2).
